Amy Lee, named after the song “Amie”, was born on December 13, 1981 to John Lee, a disc jockey and TV personality, and Sara Cargill. They moved from California to Florida to Illinois, and then finally to Arkansas.
Amy Lee has two younger sisters, Carrie and Laurie, a younger brother, Robbie, and a fourth sibling, Bonnie, died suddenly at the age of 3 of an unknown illness. The song “Hello” from the album “Fallen” was written by Amy for Bonnie. To date the song has never been performed live.
